Arbor Child Care Connection
Sliding Scale MAX Monthly Benefit Licensed Preschool: $710
 Infant/Toddler Center: $1,395.
Ongoing Application. Process is about 30 days.

  1. Income requirement (85% or less of state median).
  2. Parents need to be working, in school, or in training with overlapping hours form child's school schedule.
  3. Eligible for children from 0-12 years of age (Eligible for children up to 18 years of age who have a disability).
Good Beginnings- Maui County Child Care Subsidy

Up to $200 monthly payment for care at a DHS licensed preschool, or infant/toddler center

  1. Maui County families with children 0-5 years of age who do not qualify for any assistance from other child care subsidy programs or do not qualify for enough assistance to make tuition reasonably affordable.
  2. Income requirement (90% or less of state median).
  3. Parents need to be working, in school, or in job training for at least 30 hours per week or retired grandparents raising grandchildren.
  4. Emergency/special situations on case by case basis (example: parent gets laid off).

For families currently on welfare, children under foster care and Child Protective Services (CPS)

  4. Must apply for the program for kindergarten year, otherwise you will not be able to apply again until the child's 1st grade year.
  5. Child must move to the next level otherwise they will not be able to receive the scholarship.
  6. Demonstrates financial need.
