NEW STUDENTS – TUITION ASSISTANCE

Tuition Assistance at the Montessori School of Maui is awarded on the basis of financial need. Any family with limited income who has applied for their child to attend the Montessori School of Maui is eligible to apply for tuition assistance.  All applications are confidential.

We utilize School and Student Services (SSS) to help collect the data and to process our applications. They are a subsidiary of the National Association of Independent Schools with very secure websites. They are widely used and very respected in the field.

 

In order to qualify for Tuition Assistance all required forms must be submitted by both parents either, jointly or separately, regardless of marital status.

A.   File your Parents’ Financial Statement (PFS) online at http://sss.nais.org/parents/. The Montessori School of Maui Code is 5151.

B.   Upload the following supporting documents in your PFS online account created above. The Upload Document feature is secure and easy to use. Go to the tab called “Manage Documents”. Please save each document as a separate file.  Maximum file size is 1.5MB.

    1. Signed copies of your family’s 2013 Federal Income Tax Return (IRS 1040), including all schedules and forms.
    2. 2013 Wage and Tax Statement/s (W-2) and/or 1099 Earning Statements.
    3. Signed copies of your 2013 Federal Business Income Tax Return(s) if applicable, including all schedules and forms.
    4. Signed and not dated IRS 4506-T form which permits Montessori School of Maui to request a copy of your submitted tax return directly from the IRS.

C.   Send an email to cherylk@momi.org when you have completed all of the above steps advising her that the process is completed.

After completing all of the above steps, families will be notified as soon as possible via email of their Award Determination.


MOMI TUITION ASSISTANCE SELECTION PROCESS

Selections are made by the Montessori School Tuition Assistance Committee, which includes the Head of School, the Business Manager, and the Admissions Director.  Awards are based upon the results of the family’s financial review completed by School and Student Services.  Families will receive a Tuition Assistance Award Letter with their Enrollment Packets or as soon as possible after acceptance.
