Tuition Assistance at the Montessori School of Maui is awarded on the basis of financial need. Any family with limited income who has applied for their child to attend the Montessori School of Maui is eligible to apply for tuition assistance. All applications are confidential.
To apply for Tuition Assistance, go online to the School and Student Services (SSS) section of the National Association of Independent Schools (NAIS) website. The online address is http://sss.nais.org/parents/ There is also a link on the Parents - Tuition Assistance tab on our website www.momi.org.
All required forms must be completed online by both parents either,
jointly or separately, regardless of marital status.
A. Complete your Parents’ Financial Statement (PFS) online at http://sss.nais.org/parents/. If you applied for assistance last year please log in as a returning user. The Montessori School of Maui Code is 5151.
B. Upload the following supporting documents in your PFS online account created above. The Upload Document feature is secure and easy to use. Go to the tab called “Manage Documents”. Please upload each document as a separate file. Maximum file size is 1.5MB.
1. Signed copies of your family’s 2013 Federal Income Tax Return (IRS 1040), including all schedules and forms.
2. 2013 Wage and Tax Statement/s (W-2) and/or 1099 Earning Statements.
3. Signed copies of your 2013 Federal Business Income Tax Return(s) if applicable, including all schedules and forms.
4. Signed and not dated IRS 4506-T form which permits Montessori School of Maui to request a copy of your submitted tax return directly from the IRS.
Families completing all of the above steps by February 14, 2014 will receive an Award Determination Letter prior to the re-enrollment deadline of February 27, 2014.
THE LAST DATE FOR RETURNING FAMILIES TO APPLY FOR TUITION ASSISTANCE IS APRIL 30, 2014. Families completing the steps after February 14, 2014 will receive an Award Determination Letter on a rolling basis subject to availability of remaining funds.
Selections are made by the Montessori School Tuition Assistance Committee, which includes the Head of School, the Business Manager and the Admissions Director. Awards are based upon the results of the family’s financial review completed by School and Student Services.
