SCHOOL CLOSINGS & EARLY DISMISSALS
School Closure
At the direction of the Head of School or Board President the Montessori School of Maui may need to cancel school for a day or more due to inclement weather or for other reasons.
MEMT will be notified to help notify the school community. The closing will be announced to families via any of the following methods: Automated School Phone Tree, e-mail, teacher to parent phone calls, parent phone tree or radio station announcements.

Early Dismissal
At the direction of the Head of School, Board President or Business Manager MOMI may need to institute an Early Dismissal of students for inclement weather or other reasons.
MEMT will figure out a plan and enlist any available employees to help contact the Parents. Parents will be required informed pick up their children immediately.
Red Alert
Homeland Security declares a Red Alert if there is a severe risk of terrorist attacks.
· If red alert occurs when school is not in session, school will be closed. Notification procedures for School Closure will be followed.
· If red alert occurs when school is in session, school officials will follow the direction of local authorities. If students can leave the campus, we will follow the procedures for early dismissal.
