The Hershey’s Track Meet 2006

I was so excited that I was going to a national track meet. I was one of 5 chosen from Hawaii to go compete in Pennsylvania. I had the fastest time in our region at 13.5 seconds for the 11-12 girls hundred meter dash. Besides the track meet we also got to go to the Hershey’s Chocolate Factory and an amusement park. As the track meet began I was really scared and nervous. When they announced my event everyone went up to the starting line and took their positions. Bang! The starting gun went off. I was running as fast as I could.. I finished in sixth place at a time of 14.41 seconds. This time was a whole second slower than I ran on Maui. I was a little bit upset at first. I knew I could have done lot better if I wasn’t so nervous, and if I was more focused. Then I realized that I made it this far, and I should be very proud of what I had accomplished.
